The Durango Wine Experience brings people from across the country to downtown Durango during this weekend long event! The targeted market is not only our great local community; but attendees from around the region. Over 1000 people from fifteen states attended the DWE last year! The DWE postcards go out to thousands of households in the four corners states.
Five years ago we reached out to you, our amazing local restaurateurs, to become a part of the experience. WOW! Did you step up! The competition was as fierce as the food was delicious! The tradition is now becoming one of the biggest hits of the experience.DWE GT Header Guidos

This year’s Grand Tasting is Saturday, May 5th from 3:00 until 6:30 pm under the tent at the Smiley Building. The event will be great exposure for Durango and everyone involved. We limit the amount of participating showcase restaurants to twelve. So, just like the visitors and locals, make your reservations early!

Saturday Grand Tasting Restaurant Showcase Participants provide:

  • $250 Grand Tasting table fee.
  • 1,000-2,000 wine-friendly pieces for your showcase restaurant table at the Saturday Grand Tasting. Appetizers or small bites to allow the crowd to get a sample, just a tease to showcase what you are best known for at your restaurant. We want everyone to go out to dinner after the tasting! Expected attendance is 600-750. In order to promote the beauty of wine & food pairing, please do not serve any vinegary or overly spicy foods.
  • Display the DWE 2018 Poster at restaurant leading up to the event.DWE GT Seasons Crew
  • Distribution of check stuffers or postcards to guests (to be provided by the DWE)
  • List the “2018 Durango Wine Experience Grand Tasting” in any of your “upcoming events” publications.
  • Link to the DWE webpage on your website: dw.dev
  • Optional: You will have the opportunity to include items or info in our welcome bags for winery representatives & the general public.
  • Optional: Display or handouts for your table, anything to promote your restaurant! Promote your DWE weekend Wine Specials?

The Durango Wine Experience provides:

  • Four DWE working passes for Saturday’s Grand Tasting 3:00-6:30 pm and 4 DWE wine glasses. ($85 each, $340 total value!)
  • One-6 foot table to showcase samples of your cuisine at the Grand Tasting ($405 value)
  • We provide the people, the security, your table, the linens, ice, ice bins, water, water pitchers, small black plastic plates, sporks and black napkins. (Power by request)
  • You can access the Grand Tasting tent at the Smiley Building for set up starting at noon on Saturday, May 5th, 2018.
  • **All humans in the tent must wear a wristband.** Your lanyards are just VIP name tags. If you have not picked up your passes, they will be at will call waiting for you. Will call is in the lobby of the Strater Hotel until 2pm, then it will be at the door at the Grand Tasting.
  • Be our guest on Thursday and Friday! No work, just play!
  • Four invites to the VIP Welcome Reception on Thursday from 4:00 pm- 7:00pm on the Steamworks Brewing Patio.
  • Four DWE passes for Friday’s Walk-Around Tasting 4:00-7:00 pm ($45 each, $180 total value!)
  • Website Inclusion: Your logo and a link to you on the DWE webpage: dw.dev
  • Listing in the DWE Event Program with logo & phone number (Valued at $500)
  • Restaurant listing on the “Event Locator Map” on the back of the DWE Event Program and on website.
  • Listed as a participant/table location in the DWE Grand Tasting brochure.
  • Included in list of “DWE Recommended Restaurants” to all attendees and participants.
  • The special events liquor license, event insurance & security for the Tent at the Smiley Building.
  • Opportunities to hold DWE seminars, luncheons and/or winemaker dinners at your restaurant and  promotion.
  • Recommendation to all patrons, vendors, sponsors and “walk-about” locations for reservations, catering, etc.
    Total monetary value: Over $1000. Being a part of the 2018 Experience: Priceless!

Durango, Colorado area restaurants only. Space is limited. Table spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
